Osprey Law Enforcement Development was created to provide high-quality professional development to law enforcement officers. We want to work with your officers and your department to set the new standard in our profession! Our goal is to give as many officers as possible the skills, tactics, concepts, and critical thinking mindset to create as many high performers as possible.

We know that in law enforcement there are many factors outside of our control. In order to be successful, officers need to be locked in on what they can control: their Preparation, Attitude, and Work ethic. P.A.W. is the foundation for a successful career in law enforcement.

Preparation: ensures that we know case law, statutes, guidelines, directives, and the Constitution. It ensures that we are physically fit and can handle ourselves at any level of use of force. We take care of ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. We come to work, ready to go.

Attitude: We are positive and ready to learn every day. We are coachable, adaptable, and have a growth mindset. We are positive and attentive; we don’t delve into negativity. We build a team around us rather than alienating others. We have GRIT, we compete to be the best version of ourselves, we have courage and composure. We are energy faucets, not drains. We bring the energy! We don’t drain it.

Work-ethic: Our pro-active officers need to be our best overall officers and the faces of our community. They need to be swiss army knifes. They need to excel at pro-active work but can handle all types of calls for service; they step up when needed, and take all calls/investigations as far as they can. They are process-oriented and understand the results will come as long as we follow the process thoroughly. They are pace thermostats, not thermometers. They set the pace of a shift! They don’t let others set it for them.

Osprey L.E.D. currently offers two courses: Suburban Patrol Concepts and Defensive Tactics In-Service. Both courses are instructed by the founder of Osprey L.E.D., Daniel Kinkler.
